The report also gave a prognosis on the capacity of the boy, whether they were likely to remain in institutional care, or if they could survive outside of the institution. Some boys were committed to Seacliff Mental Hospital, other institutions, or returned to their family home.

The sequence of Nominal Cards from 1969 was called the Master File Index from January 1969. Included in the sequence were index cards for Proposed Admission and Admissions Not Effected. The Proposed Admissions cards were missing, but Proposed Admissions are documented on the the 6/70/4 files in in Series 22057 Multiple Number Subject files. For the Admissions Not Effected, the 6/70/4A files - Proposed Admissions Declined or Not Proceeded With and Admissions Not Effected, they are also in Series 22057.

The reverse of the Child Welfare Control Cards documented the pupil's (or child's) History while under Control. Boys were usually discharged to other Child Welfare institutions or schools, sent home to family or friends, sent to service (employment), boarded out, committed to a mental hospital, etc. The dates boys when missing, were on school holidays, admitted to Oamaru Hospital, etc., were also noted. When a boy was no longer under the care of the state, they are noted as "Written Off".

The open dates of the Individual Record file mostly were the date of first school attendance, because the information was included in the Individual Record or the Primary School Progress Card if it is included in the Individual Record Files.

The Primary School Progress Cards were in the pocket in file which also may have contained samples of the pupil's work, letters, reports, etc. There was a separate sequence of Primary School Progress Cards (Series 23272), which were not included in the Individual Record files or in the Record of Pupil's Progress files (Series 22646).

Correspondence and reports related to their discharge from Campbell Park School, formerly Otekaike Special School for Boys, was in Series 22627 and Series 22638, both of which contained Closed Personal Records for individual pupils.

The open dates of the Record of Pupils' Progress were the date of first school attendance, taken from the Primary School Record Cards if the Card was in the back pocket of the Record. There was a separate sequence of Primary School Progress Cards (Series 23272), which were not included in the Individual Record files (Series 22647) or in the Record of Pupils' Progress files.

Between 1923 and 1951, some of the pupils were sent out to service, i.e. employment, in the Oamaru and Timaru Districts. Series 22626 contained correspondence relating to pupils' service.

Correspondence and reports related to their discharge from Campbell Park School, formerly Otekaike Special School for Boys, was found in in Series 22627 and Series 22638, both of which contained Closed Personal Records for individual pupils.
