This series comprises Licenses to Occupy for depasturage purposes.  These Licenses were granted when land was purchased under the Deferred Payments system. Deferred Payments were dealt with by the Land Office the same way as a lease of land.  Deferred Payment allowed a purchaser to pay for the land in instalments.  An application would be made and the successful applicant had the right to occupy the land while he was paying it off. Licences to Occupy were granted until purchase was completed.  On completion of payments the purchaser would be issued with a Certificate of Purchase. 
The Licenses were issued under three types or Classes.
Class I = pre-emptive rights [right to purchase land while renting it]
Class II = sections or blocks of land not less than 250 acres and not more than 5000 acres
Class III = runs [these were further divided into 1st class, not more than 5,000 acres and 2nd class not more than 20,000 acres]
The licenses to occupy crown land for pastoral purposes are organised in run order and are accompanied by a plan of the run.  The licence iterates the conditions under which the land is occupied and is signed by the Commissioner of Crown Land.  The licence records the name of licencee, description of the land and amount to be paid.
