Deferred Payments were dealt with by the Land Office the same way as a lease of land.  Deferred Payment allowed a purchaser to pay for the land in instalments.  An application would be made and the successful applicant had the right to occupy the land while he was paying it off. Sometimes the land applied for had yet to be surveyed.  This guardbook contains descriptions of land surveyed for the purposes of the applications.


 The guardbook is in license number order and the section numbers are also in order.  Each sheet records a description of the land, the licensee details and is signed and dated by the Surveyor.
