The Consulate-General in Geneva was responsible for supporting and protecting New Zealand citizens travelling or residing in Switzerland. It was also charged with performing other administrative duties such as issuing visas (where necessary) to host Swiss nationals wishing to travel to the New Zealand. The Consulate-General also undertook a role in connection with the promotion of New Zealand exports and other commercial activities in Switzerland.3

A Consul-General headed the New Zealand Consulate-General in Geneva, who was responsible to the New Zealand Embassy in Berlin, Germany. The New Zealand Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany was accredited to represent the New Zealand Government in Switzerland.4
