The New Zealand Consulate in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America, was established c.1994.1

The Consulate was responsible for supporting and protecting New Zealand citizens travelling or residing in the mid-western United States of America. It was also charged with performing other administrative duties such as issuing visas (where necessary) to United States nationals wishing to travel to New Zealand. The Consulate also undertook a role in connection with the promotion of New Zealand exports and other commercial activities in Switzerland.2

An Honorary Consul headed the New Zealand Consulate in Chicago, who was responsible to the New Zealand Embassy in Washington, D.C.3
