As most of the archives of the Department of Lands & Survey, Dunedin District Office have not been serialised and remain at the accession based level it is difficult to establish clearly relationships between series without doing further research. It should be noted that Accession D84 contains a Non-Current Lessees Index, c.1900-1987. D84 also contains Registered Files including tenure files for the period 1889-1987 which are also related.

            [ricClassificationDescription] => The index is arranged alphabetically by lessee or licensee's surname.  It is an index to land held under lease or license. Each card gives the legal description of the land that is held under tenure, with references to relevant file numbers. The details of 'expired' tenures are crossed out and the card is usually annotated with the date the change (transfer, freehold, etc) took place. Note however that at least one current tenure remains on the card.
