Schedules of shareholders and papers relating to land transactions in Rotorua Township. 

Description 
These records were housed in the Muniments Room of Land Information New Zealand's Head Office until January 2002. In c.1989 a survey was conducted of the key historical records held by the Head Office of DOSLI [Department of Survey and Land Information]. During this process records were listed, and allocated the record series number 222 which has been documented on the list in the record number field. 

These records appear to be from a variety of sources, and many are copies of original documents. They includes schedules of owners, maps, and copies of notices from the New Zealand Gazette, deeds, and agreements in relation to Rotorua. There is also a copy of the minutes of the Rotorua Tenures Commission which met in 1914 in the Rotorua Courthouse. 

The exact purpose of the records is not known; they may have been collated at the time of the Rotorua Tenures Commission to provide background information, or to enable the Department of Lands and Survey to implement recommendations of the Commission.
