This is a bound volume of Transport Department Circulars. These appeared once a month from May 1952, and were apparently sent to all traffic officers. These particular ones were collected by a Mr Calder, a Vehicle Inspector in Invercargill. The Circulars include information on policy decisions and instructions to staff, as well as road safety information, law changes and staff movements. The volume also contains a few memoranda sent to Inspector Calder, which are filed in the front and back, and so break the chronological order of the rest of the volume.
