            [history] => These photographs were taken in the North Canterbury/Nelson area, probably in the 1930's. Shots include: the Rainbow Acc. [Accommodation?] House, Wairau Valley; the Clarence Acc. [Accommodation?] House, North Canterbury; and the Acheron sheep bridge, St Helens Station, North Canterbury. 

Some of the prints bear written descriptions on their reverse sides. Four of the prints are duplicate prints and two of the negatives do not have corresponding prints. 

Miss Sutherland was an officer in the Forest Service and later became a Forester in the Department of Agriculture.

No public access is permitted to negatives or unique prints held within the New Zealand Forest Service photographic collection.  These items are held in secure areas and public access to these areas can only be permitted in exceptional circumstances.
