	This series consists of client records for individuals admitted to Hokio Beach School. These papers are a portion of the client records which were transferred from Hokio Beach School. It appears that the majority of these papers deal with admission recommendations for boys coming to Hokio but can also contain discharge information as well. The records can contain court reports, psychological reports, family background information, social worker notes, and school reports.

	Originally transferred as loose papers arranged in no discernible order, they have subsequently been repackaged into individual client files and listed by client name. They have also been arranged into alphabetical order. Their information content is related to both series 6229 and series 6231.

	These records have been listed to item level and allocated record numbers based on the number they were given in the Admission Register for Hokio Beach School (series 6218). This is an annual single number based on year of admission and register entry number e.g. 74/23. Most records also have an alternative number which is a number with the prefix H (e.g. H378) and is the number that accompanies their entry in the indexes. It appears this H number was allocated annually to admitted clients in chronological order.

	All client files contain information of a highly private and confidential nature. This may include adoption information. For this reason, under the current provisions of the Adoption Act 1955 and the Adult Adoption Act 1985, these files are permanently restricted.

	

	Entries in the record list are also restricted from public viewing for a period of 70 years from date of transfer. The list for Series 6228 Accession W3433 (transferred 1989) is therefore restricted until 2059.
