	AUCKLAND EDUCATION BOARD: MINUTE BOOKS, 1872-1970

	

	The first meeting of the Board of Education (constituted under the provisions of the Education Act 1872) was on 23 December 1872. This board met until 19 October 1876. The Education Boards Act 1876 created the Board of the Education District of Auckland, the first meeting of which was convened by the Governor on 10 November 1876.

	This series contains the minutes of the meetings of the Boards themselves and also associated committees. The volumes include details of building programmes, teachers' appointments, and approval of accounts for payment.
