	Action (more recently called Civil Proceedings) files were civil cases in which a person, or body sued someone else in Court. The files comprised documents admitted as evidence, in addition to testimony and judgement. Over the years, the numbering system controlling the files has changed, but the actual content, scope and function of the files since their first use in the 1850s has remained constant. This series ended in 2003 when the Courts moved to a new electronic file system which brought all Court created files under a single registration system, although hard copy files were still created.
