	The Road files of the Lands and Survey Department cover the period September 1906 to December 1937. These have been bound into four volumes which contain information relative to the Legalisation of Roads. The Information contained is relative to the Public Works Act, the Land Transfer Act, the Municipal Corporations Act, the Deeds Registration Act and various other acts in vogue at the time. (e.g. the Property Law Act and the Harbour Board Endowment Act.)

	There is also some correspondence from the Chief Surveyor.

	The books have an index at the front listing the file by Street Name. This is the street name that existed at the time, which may not be the street name in existence now. The file reference may in some cases be noted on the face the Deposited Plans (DP)
