	The civil record book for 1979 was used by the Motueka Magistrate's Court from 21 June until 14 October, when the Court was closed. The book (along with the rest of the Court's records) was then transferred to the Nelson High Court, who continued to use the book for the period 18 August 1980 to 10 March 1981.1



	The layout and use of civil record books was set out under the Magistrates' Court Rules 1894 (Gazette, 7 June 1894, Volume I, p.849), the Magistrates' Court Rules 1928 (Gazette, 18 December 1928, Volume III, p.3535) and the District Court Rules 1948 (Reprint) (SR 1981/259).

The civil record book for 1979 was used by the Motueka Magistrate's Court from 21 June until 14 October, when the Court was closed.
