	Notes of evidence relating to Civil cases are restricted 60 years from closure of the record.

	Notes of evidence relating to Divorce and Criminal cases are restricted 100 years from closure of the record. 

	Some records, or parts of records, may be sealed or restricted for longer periods by a court order.

	These restrictions are applied to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Privacy Act 1993 and/or the Criminal Records (Clean Slate) Act 2004, as well as other legislation which controls access to court records.

	Please note:  Additional rules regarding copying and publication etc. may be imposed by the court.
