	The route of the gas pipelines is drawn onto the cadastral maps in black ink, highlighted in yellow.

	It is likely that the plans were drawn in the mid-1980s, judging from the copying process used and the date of building of the pipelines. According to an industry journal, "In 1986, the 373.7 km Kapuni – Huntly pipeline was lengthened to transport gas to Auckland and eventually Whangarei and Kauri in the far north of the North Island. The 14 inch diameter pipeline was [named] by pipeline owner Natural Gas Corporation as the North Subsystem."1
