	Original deeds could be deposited with the Registrar for safekeeping and they were registered into the Deed system. Deposited documents were given a deposited deed number and the details were recorded in Deposited Deed Books. The Deposited Deed Books are arranged in numerical order. Details recorded in the numerical Deed Deposit Books  include:

	

		Deposit number
	

		registration / instrument number,
	

		type of instrument,
	

		name of parties
	

		date of deposit.


	Using the instrument number in the numerical Deposited Deed Books provides a link to the early Numerical Primary Entry Books (series 23654 ) and the application index book (series 23657), though the alpha suffixes for series 23657 have been omitted so it is difficult to tell what index the number relates to.    If the connection can be made this provides access into the Deeds indexes and registers.
