A1660/1104a Vol 1 1860-1875. Alphabetical by first letter of Surname of purchaser and then by first letter of Surname of Seller. Only indexed by purchaser. For Wills look for surname under W. Declarations under D as well as under surname.
    
A1600/1107a Vol 2 1880-1885. Indexed under A-Z by surname of purchaser, however the listing of surnames within each letter is not in order.
    
A1660/1108a Vol 3 1910-1916. Indexed under purchaser. Ordered by first letter and first vowel. See page index at front of volume.
    
A1660/1105a Vol 4. c.1876-1880 for Conveyances. 1860s onwards for Crown Grants.  Indexed under A-Z by surname, however the listing of surnames within each letter is not in order. The lists have been divided into three columns: Grants, Conveyances and Mortages. For Conveyances the name of the seller is indexed - for purchaser see A1660/1106a

This series of indexes provides an alphabetical listing of the surnames of the parties involved in land transactions under the deeds registration system.
For numerical references go to the corresponding registers in series 23654 Primary Numerical Indexes. For references with an alpha-suffix go to series 23657 e.g. 2026F can be located in Application Index Book 1F-4717F [BAJZ 23657 A1660/1049a].  Note: the name given in series 23654 and 23657 often differs from the name in the Nominal Index as it appears to be the person who lodges the deed e.g. the lawyer.
The volume numbers can be confusing; numbers on the volume spine may differ to what is written inside the volume. The number written inside the volume has been placed in the Record Number field; if there is a number on the spine it has been placed in the alternative number field. These volume numbers appear to have been added at a later date in pencil along with approximate dates of registration. Purchase dates can be years earlier.
There is no nominal index that covers the 1886-1909 period.
