	This series consisted of case files on High Court sentencing referred from Magistrates/District Courts sittings in the Manawatu court circuit. A case would be referred to the High Court at Palmerston North in instances where the sentencing was outside the jurisdiction of the District Court.

	Registers found in Series 21241 list the prisoners that were sent for for trial or sentencing at the Palmerston North High Court.

	All separate series of criminal case files were replaced by a single series of criminal side case files in 2003.

	Permission to access restricted criminal records should be sought from the Palmerston North High Court. Please check the Ministry of Justice’s website for the most up to date contact details at:

	The process for considering requests to access criminal records can take some time depending on the nature of the request but in most cases, the Ministry aims to provide a response to requests within 8 weeks of application.
