	Criminal Record Books contain a record of proceedings in criminal hearings of the Southbridge Magistrate's Court. The register records date, criminal record number, name of prosecutor, name of person charged, offence, plea, decision, amount of fines and costs, details of warrants of distress and/or imprisonment, and stamps where applicable.



	The Criminal Record Books are not self-indexed and can only be accessed using the Indexes to Criminal Record Books, or if the date of appearance is known.



	In early 1971 the court ceased to use these record books, instead using a system of criminal record sheets to record the proceedings of the criminal sittings.
