This series consists of  schedule of warrants for issue of certificate of title in the Wellington land district. 
After 1880 when the Land Transfer Amendment Act was passed the issue of a certificate of title became the normal evidence of title from the crown. A schedule of those who had purchased land was sent to the Governor and on his signature became a warrant for the issue of certificate of title. Copies of the warrants were kept by the respective district offices.
