This series consists of two land tenure ledgers for the Wellington land district. One ledger covers deferred payments and the other, perpetual leases.
These ledgers are parallel successors to the ledger in series 19582. However at the same time as new entries were made in these ledgers, additions were made to the old entries in the ledger described in series 19582 which also contained lists of transfers up to 1893. 
The deferred payments ledger is organised into the following categories:

Deferred payments.

Occupation with right of purchase.

Capitalisation of Deferred payments.

Extension of Deferred payments to 14 years.

Deferred payments - Special Settlements.


Similarly the perpetual lease ledger is divided into sub-tenure types:

Perpetual Lease.

Lease in perpetuity.

Conversions to Lease in Perpetuity.

Small Runs.

Farm Homestead Associations.

Reserves leases.


There are incomplete nominal indexes at the front which do not appear to include most of the Farm Homestead entries or other entries which occur after 1 June 1893.
