The original documentation for this series in the Record Group included a hand written annotation directing researchers to Immigration series 6 [series 8226] for more correspondence relating to special settlements.

The original documentation also included two annotations concerning item one (Papers concerning the Manchester Block, Feilding).  
The first indicates that more information on this block may be held by the Fielding Public Library, who have a biographical index on early settlers including lands and deeds references.
The second annotation cross-references the item with an item in the Wellington Province Record Group, WP3 [series 16195] 73/208

This series comprises a number of records concerning special immigration settlements.  Records include a register of land orders, record books for special settlements, and an application book for Special Settlement Associations.
The original paper list for this series included descriptive information relating to some items.  This has been captured below:
Item 1 - Papers concerning the Manchester block, Feilding
This includes correspondence and memoranda concerning the purchase arrangements subdivision and settlement of the block by the Emigrants and Colonists Aid Corporation. 
Item 2 - A register of land orders & Midland Railways selections
The register gives record number, date, name, age, address, acreage, payments and remarks concerning selectors of the Te Puke and Te Aroha settlements.
The selections give record number, date of Public Works certificates, value of land grant, section of work completed by contractor, number of block selected, acreage, value and date of approval.
Item 3 - Record book of special settlement under order in council
This includes file number, name of association, promoter block, administrative action taken and resume of correspondence.
Item 4 - Application Book for Special Settlement Associations
This includes resume of applications: file number, name of association, secretary, number of members, land applied for deposit, whether land available, acceptance of proposal, date of survey, instructions and date of gazetting.
Item 5 - Record Book of Special Settlement Associations
This includes dates of application, list of members submitted, deposit, applications approved by Minister, survey instructions to Chief Surveyor and proclamation.
Item 6 - Record book and regulations
This includes file numbers, name of special settlement, acreage applied for and granted, date, location, number of members, legislation used, deposit, date of acceptance, proclamation, date, Chief Surveyors instructions, valuation approved, date of Order in Council and gazetting; also copy of regulations as gazetted.
