	This series documented records of the Commission of Enquiry into alleged nuisances in Auckland Metropolitan Drainage District . The Enquiry was set up in response to numerous complaints from Mangere residents where the new sewerage treatment works were located. Primarily concerned with the swarms of Midges and the offensive smell emanating from the works, the complaints were accompanied by claims for financial compensation.

	The Commission ran from 9 March 1964 to 23 January 1965 when a report with recommendations was submitted to the Governor-General. Several measures to improve the treatment of sewerage at Mangere (and elsewhere) were implemeted as a result of the Inquiry. 

	The records cover a transcript of the proceedings, submissions to the Enquiry, transmittal letter to the Governor-in-General, and a copy of the published report.
