            [history] =>

This series comprises files relating to cases heard in the Putaruru Magistrates Court relating to maintenance, custody, matrimonial property, conciliation and separation.

After 1981, when the Family Proceedings Act (1980) came into effect, the domestic proceedings became known as family proceedings, and the system of classification changed to an annual number system, so this series was closed.

The files contain copies of papers relating to the hearings, including copies of maintenance agreements, custody applications and agreements, paternity orders, separation agreements, statements of evidence, correspondence with legal representatives, and in the front of each file, an action sheet showing the dates of steps in the case.

Names and addresses of parties are usually given.
