For preservation reasons covered by section 49(1)(a) of the Public Records Act 2005, negatives are not issuable under normal retrieval services. They are stored in a temperature controlled vault and must be brought to room temperature gradually. Consequently, it must be ordered at least twenty four hours before it can be brought to the reading room for consultation. Viewing is subject to approval and is by appointment only.
