π Inwards letters. 30 October 1874 - Samuel Thomas Seddon, Alfred Cox, W Steele, Thomas Foley, Bernard Beale, D Simpson, James Martin and others - For an extension to Mr Holloway's stay in the Waikato. - Enclosure: 1. 24 October 1874 - Superintendent, J Williamson - Has received memorial from influential settlers requesting that Mr Holloways stay in the Waikato be extended. 2. 24 October 1874 - Superintendent, J Williamson - Advising that Mr Holloway leaves for England at the end of the month. 3. 24 October 1874 - Superintendent, J Williamson - That the General Government does not consider it necessary for Mr Holloway to extend his stay but if he does, he does at his own discretion. 4. 24 October 1874 - Superintendent, J Williamson - Has advised Mr Holloway that the Auckland Province cannot pay anything beyond his actual travelling expenses specified and any extension will be at his own discretion. 5. 24 October 1874 - E B Walker - Asks if the Auckland Province will pay Mr Holloway's expenses for a fortnight to see the Waikato. 6. 24 October 1874 - Superintendent, J Williamson - Cannot undertake to provide passage home to England for Mr Holloway should he remain beyond the time fixed with the General Government. 7. 9 November 1874 - Superintendent, J Williamson - Informs that the first ship direct to England is now delayed till late December rather than late November.
