W480 - Coroners inquest files in this accession are unrestricted.
W3038 and W3475 and W3605 - Coroners inquest files from these accessions (dating up to and including 1978) are restricted for 50 years from date of file closure, on the grounds of personal privacy. Permission to access these files must be obtained from the Coronial Services.
W5450 and W5521 - All Coroners inquest files from 1979-2000 are restricted for 70 years from year of registration on the grounds of personal privacy (including those documents in sealed envelopes). Permission to access these files must be obtained from the Coronial Services.
Preservation Access Statement
Audio records or films are not issuable due to technical formats. Contact Archives New Zealand for permission to view or the availability of alternative access provisions. Viewing is by appointment only.
Photographs require that gloves are worn when viewing.
Maps/plans (large rolls) require special handing due to their size and storage conditions. Gloves and paper weights will be provided where required.
