π Superintendent - General Inwards Letters and Letters from the Commissioner of Crown Lands and the General Government - Premiere Edward Stafford, Wellington - 7 December 1867 - Referring to a letter of 10 October 1867 requesting payment of Β£1250 due as interest on the Hawke's Bay share of the permanent debt of Wellington Province and stating that there has been some difficulty over the matter because of the Public Reserves Act 1867 and also the separation of Hawke's Bay and Wellington Provinces. Reporting that the Government will pay the said sum into the Provincial Treasury of Wellington and deduct an equal sum from the Hawke's Bay province's revenues
