[history] => The Careers Service, Wanganui Sub-Office, opened in 1990 as an office of the Career Development and Transition Education Service. It was responsible for providing the front line services of the organisation in the Wanganui district. The Annual Reports for 1991, 1992 and 1993 state that this office was based in a home (for which a nominal rental was payable).1
In 1995 the Government commissioned a major review of the provision of career information and guidance. The results of this review led to a restructuring of The Careers Service, which established an internal business unit but also streamlined its twenty-two offices into 11 branches and 4 sub-offices. The changes took effect from 1 July 1996, at which time the Wanganui Sub-Office closed.2

The Careers Service, Wanganui Sub-Office, opened in 1990 as an office of the Career Development and Transition Education Service.
