The Alexandra Office of Lands and Survey was responsible for monitoring the high country leases in Central Otago. Field Officers regularly visited high country runs and reported on conditions. In 1987 the Department of Lands and Survey was disestablished. In Alexandra, Land Corporation Limited (Landcorp) took over these functions from the Lands and Survey Department.
