The Normanby Police Station was responsible for policing within the Normanby area.
Initially part of the Taranaki District, in 1880 the Normanby Police Station had a staff of two constables, one of whom was a mounted officer. In 1881 the districts were re-organised and Normanby became part of the Wanganui District; at this point the staffing level was reduced to one constable. By 1886 Normanby had again become part of the Taranaki District, and remained so until, in 1891, the Wanganui and West Coast District was created.
